Description / Abstract
Artificial intelligence poses novel challenges to current United States copyright law. Creative actors that rely on copyright as a means to sustain themselves are particularly susceptible to changes brought forth by AI. The reworking of copyright requires a careful consideration of the competing interests of creative innovation and creative sustainability. This paper is an examination of the historical and present interactions between copyright, creative artists, and corporations to provide insight to the future of copyright under the shadow of AI.
