The relationship between the Wnt and AR pathways is unclear. The objective of this project was to investigate the effects of deleting the AR gene on the activity of the Wnt pathway in mice prostate basal cells during homeostasis. This will help clarify whether or not AR and Wnt work synergistically or opposingly. CK5, T/L-GFP, AR L/L transgenic reporter mice were generated and confirmed through polymerase chain reactions. They were then treated with tamoxifen for 4 days, and dissected at 2 weeks, and 4 weeks post injection. Their prostates were sectioned, and then stained via immunofluorescence. AR deletion showed an up-regulation of the Wnt pathway showing a opposing relationship between the two pathways.
