Phenomenological Formations and an Aesthetics of Diaspora: the Work of Yinka Shonibare

In an effort to greater understand the contemporary artist Yinka Shonibare, the psychoanalytic theory of Frantz Fanon's "Black Skin White Masks" is used to read the artist's work. The artist is thus read through the theory of identity formation in post-colonial societies while understanding the artist in the contemporary.
